Wuxi Anyuan AutomobileCo.Ltd,located in Wuxi,China"s Jiangsu Province,receives investment from Wuxi Any-uan Industru Joint Stock CO,Ltd asan R & D(research and development)center and as a production base for theexport of luxurious passenger buses．The company"s facilities cover a largearea of 90,000 square meters．Duringthe first phase of constmction,factorybuildings with a floor area of 15,000square meters were erected,enablingan annual production capacity of 1,500buses．worth of RMB 0:5 billion．Dur-ing the second phase,another 20,000sauare meters were allocated for use asfactory buildings,which brought thecompany"s annual production capacityt0 5,000 buses,worth of RMB 1.5 bil-lion．Among the company"s 1,200 em-ployees,196 are working as technicalor managerial personnel．

How can a domestic company likeAnyuan Automobile find opponunitiesto explore new markets in developedcountries?Responding to this questionby our reponer,su Liqian,GM of Any-uan Automobile,shared his insights andvisions with China"s Foreign Trade.
"The first thing I would like to pointout is that at present,tbere are very fewChinese buses in beiing used in devel-oped countries,which is a gap in themarket that we are confident we will fill．Bus manufacturing is a labor-incensiveindustry, and many auto parts are not yetavailable on the international automo-bile parts purchase platform．Therefore,developed countries need to find autoparts suppliers in countries with lowerlabor costs．such as China,to meet theirtechnical specifications．In this capacityI think,Chinese firms like ours can playimportant roles in the markets of devel-oped countries."

According to Mr.Su,China"s busmarket resembles that of Russia．In retler-ence to this,he says,"Russia is a countrywith a very strong demand for passengerbuses．However. based on my experienceand knowledge of the Russian market,Ithink that so far low-end products haveaccounted for majority of the total de-mand for passenger buses."
